Top Visitor Highlights

Victorian farmhouse
Step inside and be transported back in time. Play old fashioned games and musical instruments in the parlour room, have a go at doing the washing in the laundry room and make toast in front of an open fire in the kitchen.

street of shops
Pop into "Stoney" Stratford's old Cox & Robinson chemist and buy some penny sweets from the old Ridgmont Post Office. Many of the old shop fronts are originals saved from local High Streets including Newport Pagnell.

Farming barn
Follow the winding path through the barn and discover historic farming equipment. Many items are from local farms which had to close as the land was needed to build the New Town. Look out for locally manufactured items from E& H Roberts of Deanshanger and William Smith of Woolstone.

Telephone Gallery
A firm favourite with children and adults alike, take a nostalgic look back at how telephones have evolved. Have a go at operating switchboards from different periods and show the children how to make (and answer) a dial phone!

Print Room
As well as the Railway Works, Wolverton also had McCorquodale’s Print Works, providing jobs for the women the Railway Works could not employ. Learn about how these impressive 150 year-old print machines work and even see them in action.

Hall Of Transport
Take a seat on the world’s biggest (now stationary) steam tram which used to run between Stony Stratford and the Railway Works in Wolverton. Explore various modes of transport from canal barges to bicycles and lots in-between.
