An All Hollow’s Eve Event

Friday 30 October | 6.00pm–9.00pm | Adults 18+

Step inside Milton Keynes Museum after hours for Legends & Lanterns, an immersive evening event where folklore, superstition and seasonal traditions come to life.

As darkness falls, explore the Museum through a series of atmospheric experiences inspired by local legends, historic beliefs and the customs of All Hallows’ Eve. Wander through the galleries as history and storytelling intertwine, with themed entertainment, interactive activities and surprises waiting around every corner.

Take part in our interactive Ghost Hunt, searching the Museum for a collection of handcrafted ceramic ghosts hidden throughout the site. One lucky visitor who discovers the elusive Golden Ghost will win a specially curated seasonal hamper.

Visitors are encouraged to dress in period-inspired costume, taking inspiration from the Museum’s historic setting, local folklore or traditional autumn celebrations. Whether you arrive as a Victorian villager, a character from local legend or simply embrace the spirit of the season, costumes are warmly welcomed and add to the immersive atmosphere.

Tickets include a delicious meal from local favourite Saf’s Kitchen, featuring freshly prepared Punjabi and Indian fusion street food. Vegetarian, vegan and GF options available, please order at booking.

The Museum Bar will also be open throughout the evening, making it the perfect place to relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy an autumn evening with friends.

A Unique After-Hours Museum Experience

Legends & Lanterns offers a unique opportunity to experience Milton Keynes Museum after hours. Blending local history, heritage and folklore with immersive storytelling, interactive discovery and seasonal entertainment, it’s an unforgettable adults-only evening filled with curiosity, mystery and gentle Halloween thrills.

Education Officer

Ellie megram

Ellie has lived in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area all her life.

Before joining Milton Keynes Museum, she worked as a primary school teacher where she especially enjoyed
planning enrichment activities and special events to give children a wealth of memorable experiences.

Passionate about the importance of learning beyond the classroom, Ellie values hands-on, interactive experiences that inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

In her role as Education Officer, she develops engaging learning experiences and resources that bring the museum’s collections to life and spark fascination for learners of all ages.

Community Outreach Officer

Laura Dove

Laura is a creative who has previously worked in the Charity, Education & Local Government sectors, with three years of experience in community roles and is the Visual Arts Director of a Community-Based organisation in Uganda called Tambularts.

She’s based in Bedford but has had links to Milton Keynes throughout her life. She believes in bringing people together for the sake of the arts and aims to achieve this through the ‘Museum for a New City’ project by including a diverse range of the Milton Keynes community.

Laura loves the interactive nature of the Museum and as the Community Outreach Officer at Milton Keynes Museum, she wants to make sure people are involved in telling their stories and building heritage to contribute towards the permanent exhibitions in the new gallery.
