Step Back to the 1940s
We’re turning back the clock this September with the return of its much-loved 1940s Weekend and you’re invited to experience the sights, sounds, and spirit of wartime Britain.
What to Expect
Hands-on history – Meet Home Front re-enactors, play wartime games (no screens here!), and watch authentic 1940s films and Pathe-style newsreels in the stables.
Everyday life of the ’40s – Step into the Street of Shops where the cobbler, grocer, and butcher bring rationing to life.
Vintage fashion & style – Browse stalls packed with 1940s clothing, shoes, handbags, jewellery, and military gear.
Engines & exhibits – Explore a steam engine, wartime transport trucks, agricultural machinery, and our Railways at War exhibition.
Live Entertainment
The weekend wouldn’t be complete without music and dance – acts to be announced soon!
